HDHomeRun
Reports what every HDHomeRun tuner is receiving, and who is watching it.
Every aerial tuner in the house, what each one is receiving, and which television is watching it. Found automatically on your network, with no account and nothing to configure.
What it does
- Every tuner box found automatically with the HDHomeRun's own broadcast -- no account, no pairing, nothing to configure
- Per tuner: channel, station call sign, programme, the client watching, and three signal measures
- A summary device with tuners in use and free, clients watching, and everything on air
- Channel count, HD count, reachability and firmware-update alerts per box
- Programme titles from HDHomeRun's free guide, from Schedules Direct, or from BOTH together
- Each box reports its own capabilities -- transcoding, channel maps -- asked over HDHomeRun's own protocol, never guessed from the model
- A playlist link per box, so the whole aerial opens in VLC or Kodi in one paste
- Publishes the guide as XMLTV and JSON, so Jellyfin, Emby or a dashboard read the listings this plugin already fetched instead of each holding its own Schedules Direct account
- Downloads only the days Schedules Direct says have changed, and keeps both the listings and the sign-in across restarts, so a shared account is not spent on data it already has
- Choose how many days of listings to keep, from one to fourteen
- Series and episode numbers and original air dates, so a recording rule can tell a repeat from a first showing
- Tells a Roku what channel it is actually watching, which its own protocol cannot report
- Rescan channels as an event action -- and it refuses while somebody is watching
- Updates bring devices already created up to date, so improvements reach an existing install
What you need
- One or more HDHomeRun network tuners on the same local network
- A Schedules Direct subscription only if you want its listings; the free HDHomeRun guide needs no account
- Sharing the guide with other software writes files HomeSeer serves without a password, so it is for your own network and is switched off until you turn it on
