Jellyfin
Reports and controls what is playing on a Jellyfin media server.
What your Jellyfin server knows, in HomeSeer, live over its own push channel: who is watching what, what just arrived, and one-line events for start, pause, stop and the last five minutes.
What it does
- Every Jellyfin player as HomeSeer devices, with a choice of every player, only this network's, or none until you add them
- What is playing, who is watching, progress, minutes and seconds left, file and size, and the poster
- Transport on each player, plus Resume last: the last thing it played, from where it stopped
- The player's own volume and mute, with a slider and buttons, where the app reports them
- Server-wide: streams, local and remote, transcoding, what arrived today and in which library, library size, scanning, updates
- Jellyfin's own CPU and memory, where its optional metrics are switched on
- One-line event triggers: a player starts, pauses, resumes, stops or finishes; nears the end; something new arrives; the server goes offline
- Event actions: control any or every player, show a message on the TV, play a playlist or a title, scan a library
- Playlists exported and imported as M3U, PLS, XSPF, WPL, JRiver, iTunes, CSV and more, matched to your library by file
- Live updates over the server's own push channel, within seconds, not on a poll
What you need
- A Jellyfin server reachable on the local network
- An API key, made in Jellyfin's own dashboard in under a minute
