Roku
Controls Roku players over the local ECP protocol.
Every Roku in the house as a HomeSeer device: power, remote, what is playing and how far through it is. Found automatically on your own network, with no account and no cloud.
What it does
- Every Roku found automatically over SSDP -- no account, no cloud, no configuration
- Power, full remote, volume, mute and headphone detection as ordinary device values
- Now Playing, position, elapsed and minutes remaining, so events can fire as a film ends
- Event actions: press any remote button, open a channel, or search and start playing
- Triggers and conditions of its own: changes, stays in a range for a time, stops changing, or its text matches
- Roku TVs: true power state, and TV inputs (Live TV, HDMI, AV) in the Channel and Favourites lists
- Names follow the ones set in the Roku app, or rename any Roku by clicking its name on the plugin's page
- Twelve scripting calls for everything the actions do, plus channel lists and now playing
- Borrows real titles from the Plex and HDHomeRun plugins when their app is on screen
- Built-in worked examples, self-tests, log viewer and a full list of what it publishes
What you need
- One or more Roku devices on the same local network
- Roku Network access set to Permissive (Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Control by mobile apps)
New in 1.0.2.21
- A name set in the Roku mobile app or at my.roku.com now reaches the HomeSeer device too
- Rename a Roku by clicking its name on the Devices page; a name given in HomeSeer stays
- A newly found Roku whose name another Roku already has gets a different name automatically
- Triggers and conditions of its own: changes, stays in a range for a time, stops changing, text matches
- Roku TVs: Power no longer turns back to On a few seconds after the TV is switched off
- Roku TVs: TV inputs (Live TV, HDMI, AV) appear in the Channel and Favorites lists
- More robust installation on Linux
